(Atlantic) The Atlantic Football Team will play ten regular season games this fall instead of the standard nine. In March, the Board of Control formally approved a week 0 football game on August 23, at home against Council Bluffs, Thomas Jefferson.
Atlantic Head Coach Joe Brummer says the summer workouts went well and credits Strength and Conditioning Coach Matt Best for his workout plan.
He also mentioned that they ask a lot of their players in the summer and that everybody performed well.
The Trojans also competed in the Simpson Camp. Coach Brummer was happy with the results and impressed with the leadership of his 20 seniors on the roster this season.
Practice will begin on August 5. Meanwhile, restrictions still apply during the family week, July 29 through August 4. The Trojans will follow the opener with a home date against Clarke on August 30. Then, they will travel to Glenwood on September 6, host Greene County on September 13, travel to Winterset on September 20, and host Knoxville on September 27. The schedule balance has the Trojans playing on the road at Creston on October 4, at Perry on October 11, hosting Harlan on October 18, and finishing the regular season at Nevada on October 25.
