(Atlantic) The Atlantic varsity wrestling team recently competed at the Luther Team Camp in Decorah, achieving an 8-2 dual record with three individual champions. Head Coach Tim Duff said the team’s success started in the spring.
Duff said the effort continued throughout the summer, especially in June.
Twenty-eight teams attended the camp at Luther, and the Trojans held an 8-0 record before narrowly losing to Southeast Polk and Decorah. They finished fifth overall.
The team comprised two seniors, two juniors, and 13 first-year students and sophomores, three of whom won titles.
Coach Duff is looking forward to seeing his athletes shift their focus to fall sports, and he believes their hard work will benefit them in the future.
