(Johnston) LifeServe Blood Center is partnering with local first responders in its service area for the annual Battle of the Badges blood drive promotion from Monday, July 1, to Saturday, July 6 (it is closed on Thursday, July 4, for the holiday). Eligible blood donors can schedule appointments at LifeServe’s Donor Centers, participate in mobile blood drives, and vote for their preferred first responder group.
The competition pits EMS, Fire, and Police departments against each other in a friendly contest to see who can bring in the most lifesaving blood donations. Shay Will, Director of PR and Marketing at LifeServe Blood Center, encourages everyone to donate blood during the holiday week to help boost the blood supply and support our heroes. After donating, donors will have the chance to cast their vote and receive a first-aid kit.
