Rose Marie Petersen was born March 30, 1932 to Fred and Florence Poch from Atlantic, IA. She had 2 brothers and 3 sisters: Clyde, Harold, Donna, Shirley, and Norma. Rose married Robert Beck from Shenandoah, IA and had 2 children, Terry and Kathy. On November 2, 1953 she married Richard C. Petersen of Avoca, IA and they had 4 children: Christy, Allan, Debra, and Mike.
Rose was blessed with 16 grandkids, 28 great grand kids, and 5 great great grand kids. Oliver, Trey, Coen and 2 precious babies due this year she didn’t get to meet.
Rose passed away May 23, 2024, having attained the age of 92 years, 1 month and 23 days. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Richard. Left to cherish her memory are her children Terry (Melody) Beck of Norfold, Nebraska; Kathy Beck of Avoca, Iowa; Christy Benavidez of Henderson, Nevada; Allan (Pam) Petersen of Avoca, Iowa; Debbie Flege of Madison, Nebraska; Mike (Molly) Petersen of Avoca, Iowa; 16 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; other family and many friends
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 31st, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Avoca, IA. Family will greet friends on Friday, May, 31st, from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Avoca, IA. Burial at the Graceland Cemetery in Avoca, IA. The Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Avoca, IA is in charge of the professional arrangements.
