Mrs. Jacque Rattenborg, age 70, of Webster City, IA, formerly of Audubon, IA, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at her residence in Webster City, IA.
She was born in Battle Creek, MI, in 1954, the youngest of 10 children to Julius and Alverda Hoesing. After Alverda died in 1955, Jacque moved to Caroll, IA, to live with Eleanor and Matt Kuker. Jacque graduated from Kuemper Catholic High School in 1972 and went on to study nursing at Des Moines Area Community College.
At 18 years old, Jacque met Darrell Rattenborg, and they married in June 1972. Jacque and Darrell moved to Audubon, IA, where Jacque worked as a Staff Nurse at the Audubon Nursing Home. Together, Jacque and Darrell had one son, Chad Rattenborg, in 1974. Chad married Tammy Winkler, and together, they had 2 two children, Sierra, and Chase.
Jacque was strong in her faith and believed in the power of prayer. She was a cancer survivor and overcame multiple obstacles in her life. Jacque enjoyed singing and long conversations with her sisters.
Jacque will always be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, for accepting her state in life, and for never complaining. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
Jacque was preceded in death by her husband Darrell, her son Chad, her parents – Alverda & Julius Hoesing, and three Hoesing siblings. Also preceded in death by foster parents Matt & Eleanor Kuker, and eight of their children. She is survived by her Hoesing siblings – Janet Hall, Jean Perkins, Joy Ahlquist, June Carlile, Joletta Hoesing, Jerri Fisher, and foster siblings – LaVonne Wernimont, Robert Kuker & Rilla Soetmelk, also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Audubon, IA, with Fr. David Nkrumah as the celebrant. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the mass, also held at the church. Interment will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon following the mass. A luncheon will be held following the interment at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Hall.
