(Marshalltown, IA) – The Class 1A High School Girl’s Golf Tournament in Marshalltown has officially concluded with Griswold’s Joanna Reynolds capping a 187 overall and tied for 28th. Throughout round one, she was able to earn a 91 and then on Friday for round two, she shot a 96.
Reynolds started on hole six to start in Friday’s competition at 9:00 a.m. The Tiger was able to shoot a double bogey on hole six with a six while jumping over to hole seven with a four for a bogey. On hole eight she shot two over and on holes nine and ten she was just one over for a bogey. On hole 11, she shot an eight on a par five while shooting at par on hole 12 to make up for the minor errors on hole 11. On holes 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17, Reynolds shot just one over per every single hole. When it came to hole 18, she was able to shoot a three for a par. She moved back over to the front nine once again and shoot just one over with a five on a par four. She finished off the day with a double bogey or more on holes two, three, and four and was able to capture the last hole at par.
Joanna Reynolds shot a 49 on the front nine and a 42 on the back nine in the first round on Thursday. She started on hole 18 with a three overall to start in a good way with a par. On hole one, she shot over with a six, a double bogey overall. Reynolds did make up for it on hole two with a five for par. Hole three featured a bogey with a six while on holes four, five, and six, she had a double bogey or worse. Holes seven and nine were both par threes where she earned a bogey on both and shot a seven on hole eight. Jumping back on the back nine, she started with hole 10 earning a bogey with a five. Hole 11 was a double bogey with a seven and hole 12 helped push her back on track with a bogey at six. On holes 13 and 14, she shot at par to be able to earn a three and four. Holes 15 and 16 featured Reynolds with bogeys and on hole 17, she finished off the day with a par.
Reynolds now finishes the tournament with 187 overall and was able to earn a 91 on day one while shooting a 96 overall on day two for a total of 187. The Tiger finished off the tournament with a +45 overall for a gross total.
