(Lincoln, NE) – Nebraska’s Josh Caron has been named a semifinalist for the Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award. He is just one of 16 semifinalist catchers to be named to the award.
Caron has been batting .313 this year with a total of 14 doubles, a triple, and had a total of 38 runs scored. He currently leads the Huskers with 11 home runs and 55 RBIs this season. The Wisconsin native is just one of three semifinalists for the National Collegiate Catcher Award that includes Justin Cowan and Mitch Abetia. He ranks as just one of 11 catchers on a national level with a .310 plus batting average.
Nebraska and Caron will take on Purdue tonight (May 22nd) with the game starting at 7:00 p.m.
