(Atlantic) An initial report of a domestic assault in Atlantic leads to one arrest.
According to the complaint and Affidavit report from the Atlantic Police Department, 42-year-old Atrin Farek of Atlantic faces charges of willful injury-causing bodily injury and child endangerment.
The report states that at 12:10 a.m. on Sunday, Police responded to 17 West 4th Street Apartment #4 in Atlantic for a domestic assault in progress. The caller, Eseuk Phylon, stated his girlfriend stabbed him. When officers arrived, they located Phylon, who suffered from a laceration to his left shoulder blade. Cass EMS personnel treated Phylon at the scene.
Officers located Atrin Farek and a one-year-old child in the back bedroom of the apartment and detained her. Police believe the child was present during the time of the assault. Phylon told Officers Farek was his wife and not the person who stabbed him. Instead, he told Officer’s a person he identified as Steri stabbed him inside the apartment, but he did not know where she lived. He stated that Steri left the apartment before the Officers arrived. Officers searched the apartment and found no traces of blood or the weapon used in the assault.
Meanwhile, Farek told Officers Phylon left the apartment at 11:00 p.m. and returned an hour later with the injury sustained to his back. She didn’t know how it got there. A family member translating for Phylon told Officer’s Atrin Farek assaulted Eseuk Phylon with the knife. Police subsequently took Atrin Farek into custody, transported her to the Cass County Jail, and held her on a $7,000 bond.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.
