(Des Moines, IA) – At the Drake Relays on Thursday, April 25th, multiple local teams competed in their respective events for the local schools. The Relays featured multiple athletes finishing in some top events as the high schoolers competed in the 3200m run, discus, shot put, high jump, and long jump.
In the 3200m run, the boys featured Ethan Eichhorn in sixth (9:09.6 Lewis Central), and Kevin Coots in 21st (9:59.13 Lewis Central). On the girl’s side for the 3000m run, Lili Denton was in ninth (10:10.44 St. Albert) and Lindsey Sonderman in 14th (10:24.37 Harlan).
Moving to the boy’s discus, Evan Adams earned 12th (162-2 Kuemper Catholic). While taking a look at the long jump, Mason Boothby earned 11th (21-3.75 Underwood) and Brehden Eggerrs placed 17th (20-8 Harlan).
In the other girl’s shot put, Emma Kuhlman earned 13th (37-8.50 Carroll) and Jordyn Maityow was named 20th (35-9.50). For the girl’s high jump, Jaidyn Sellers placed first (5-7 Panorama) and Avah Underwood earned 15th (5-1 St. Albert).
The Drake relays will run through Saturday, April 27th with the sprinting events starting tomorrow, April 26th.
