Riverside Boys and Girls Sweep Golf Dual Over AHSTW

(Oakland, IA) – At the Oakland Country Club on Friday, the Riverside boys and girls golf teams were able to take victories over AHSTW. The boys won 165-179 while the girls took a victory with a total of 205 on the evening.

Coming in second for Riverside was Bulldog AC Roller who shot a 40 on the day and earned runner-up for the Bulldogs. He looked great on his drives and in the short game but mentioned that he struggled just a bit when it came to the green game.

Riverside’s Garrett Hough was able to take the win on the day as the medalist with a score of 37. The senior also went alongside Roller who also wished for a better day on the greens.

AC Roller is looking for improvement in reading the greens. With it being so early in the season, the greens have been a bit patchy out on the course. Given those circumstances, it is all about adjustment and how you tackle your putting game, something that Roller and his teammates are looking to improve upon.

On the girl’s side, Kaycie Perkins was able to earn runner-up in the dual while shooting a 49 on the day. She liked the way that she started off on the front five, especially in terms of her putting game. Despite the better weather on the back four, she said wished that her putting game was up to par.

The medalist on the day was Riverside’s Addison Brink who shot a 43 for Riverside. While shooting an impressive score, she is still looking to improve heading into next week.

Riverside returns back to golf action on Monday as they’ll take on the Missouri Valley Big Reds at the Oakland Country Club at 4:00 p.m.
