(Lincoln, NE) – Nebraska Husker Josh Caron has been named to the Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award Watch List. The Husker catcher was named to the list by the Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission.
The Wisconsin native is one of just five cathers nationally that are batting with a .300-plus batting average. Caron is batting .308 this season with eight doubles, a triple, seven homers, 40 RBIs and 25 runs scored. He started in 29 total games for Nebraska this season while driving in 40 runs.
Looking at the Huskers’ next bit of action, they’ll take on Maryland starting today at 6:00 p.m. and will take on the Terrapins on Saturday and Sunday.
