(Iowa City, IA) – Iowa’s student-athletes Caitlin Clark and Rivaldo Marshall have been named Iowa’s April Student-Athletes of the Month.
Caitlin Clark was able to help Iowa earn their second National Championship appearance and tied the NCAA Tournament school record against LSU with a total of 41 points while whipping out 12 assists and hauling in seven boards. Clark concluded her career in the National Championship game with 30 points, five assists, and eight rebounds against South Carolina. The West Des Moines native was picked in the first round as the first pick in the WNBA Draft as the first-ever Hawkeye to be picked as the top choice in the WNBA.
On the other side, Marshall was able to set a few records of his own. He now holds the program record in the 800-meter run at 1:45.86 and reached the Olympic qualifying standard. Marshall just recently placed second in the 800-meter run and was a key part of the 4×400-meter relay team that earned fifth in the Desert Heat Classic. He currently ranks first in the Big Ten and seventh in the NCAA in the 800-meter.
