(Austin, TX) – Former Iowa guard and now Indiana Fever guard, Caitlin Clark, has been named to the 2023-24 Academic All-America Team Member of the Year Award. She was just recently the recipient of the award last season, becoming the seventh player to earn the honor in back-to-back seasons.
Not only is she going to be jumping into the WNBA in a few months, but will be graduating in about a month with a degree in marketing. Clark currently holds a 3.64 GPA while leading the country in points and assists per game with 31.6 points and 8.9 assists. While leading in the classroom, she was also leading out on the court, leading Iowa to back-to-back NCAA Championships for the first time in Iowa history. She is also the first Division-I basketball player to put down 1,000+ points in back-to-back seasons.
Clark has won a number of awards this season including the Academic All-America Team Member of the Year Award, Wooden Award, Nancy Lieberman Point Guard of the Year, Ann Meyers Drysdale Award, Honda Sport Award, Wade Trophy, Associated Press National Player of the Year, Naismith National Player of the Year, USA Today National Player of the Year, ESPN.com National Player of the Year, The Athletic National Player of the Year, Sporting News National Player of the Year, AP, USBWA, USA Today First Team All-America, Big Ten Player of the Year, and First Team All-Big Ten.
The West Des Moines native will be joining the Indiana Fever as the number-one pick in the WNBA Draft.
