(Ames, IA) – With just a few players transferring out of Iowa State, the Cyclones have already found their replacements. Iowa State Head Men’s Basketball Coach T.J. Otzelberger has officially announced Brandton Chatfield (Seattle), Nate Heise (UNI), and Dishon Jackson (Charlotte) will be joining the Cyclones this summer. This was previously reported by KSOM Sports that these three would be signing to play at Iowa State.
Taking a look at Brandton Chatfield, he formally played for the Seattle Redhawks in the last three seasons and is transferring to Iowa State with just one year left of eligibility. The Idaho native started in 37 games for Seattle last year averaging 9.4 points per game while ranking second on the team in rebounds with 5.4. He started his career at Washington State alongside Dishon Jackson before transferring to Seattle. He is the only known men’s basketball player from Idaho to play for Iowa State.
The Cyclones also add Nate Heise who played just 90 minutes away at the University of Northern Iowa for a total of four seasons with just one year left of eligibility. He averaged 13.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game this season. He led the Panthers in points with 431 and shot 35.6% from the field. Heise has been a main contributor for the Panthers since his freshman season after being named to the Missouri Valley All-Freshman team.
Iowa State’s last official transfer is Dishon Jackson who comes to Iowa State with two seasons of eligibility remaining. He averaged 11.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 0.9 blocks per game this season in all 30 games for the 49ers. Jackson comes to Iowa State alongside his former teammate Chatfield after playing alongside one another at Washington State. While playing at Washington State, he was a dominant freshman on the floor, earning PAC-12 All-Freshman Honorable Mention honors.
