(Ames, IA) – The Iowa State Cyclones will be bringing in a transfer from the portal after Brandton Chatfield announced that he will be committing to Iowa State for his final year of eligibility.
Chatfield formally played at Seattle University for the Redhawks for three seasons. He has averaged seven points and 4.7 rebounds per game in his career while having one of his top seasons last year with a career-high 9.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per game this season. In entering his sixth season, this will be the third team that he will be playing on after playing for Washington State from 2019-21 after redshirting his freshman season.
He helped to carry the men’s basketball team to a CBI Championship after putting down eight points and grabbing four rebounds in the Redhawks 77-67 victory.
The graduate student is related to Morgan Matthews who played soccer at Portland State from 2015-18.
