(Indianola, IA) – Former Atlantic Trojan, Haley Rasmussen, has earned multiple Simpson College women’s basketball awards after her stellar performance this season.
Rasmussen was just recently named to the Coach’s Award and was the Co-Offensive Player of the Year alongside Perry, Iowa native Molly Lutmer. The Atlantic native averaged 12.9 points and 2.1 assists per game this season. She also shot 41.2% from the field and 35.1% from beyond the arc to help the Storm on the offensive side of the floor. Rasmussen also earned Academic All-District recognition for her performance in the classroom. To qualify, all nominees must be at least a sophomore in academic standing, have played in 90 percent of the team’s games or started at least 66 percent, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.
The junior also earned her season-high in scoring this season on two separate occasions. On November 25th she scored 28 points against LaCrosse (Wisconsin) and also had 28 points on December 9th against Wartburg.
While the basketball season is over, Rasmussen is focused on the track and field season as a member of the Storm women’s track and field team.
