(Lincoln, NE) – Jaylen Reyes, Nebraska’s recruiting coordinator and assistant coach, has accepted an opportunity to be the assistant coach for the USA Volleyball U21 National Team. The National team will play at the Women’s Continental Championship this summer in Toronto, Canada.
Reyes has played a big role in the Huskers’ success, even helping Nebraska advance to the NCAA Final last year and a Big Ten Championship to top it all off. Reyes specializes in the defensive aspect of the floor which goes towards the blocking, passing, and positioning aspects which are more than crucial to a team’s success. Nebraska’s defense has been so productive under Reyes that they led the nation in opponent-hitting percentage with a .137 average.
The U21 National Team will practice and train in Anaheim, California from June 14-22 and then play in the Championship bouts from June 23-July 1. Reyes will be coaching alongside Heather Olmstead of BUY and Alex Dunphy of Stanford.
