(Avoca, IA) – The AHSTW Lady Vikes have now won four straight games with their 39-30 victory over Logan-Magnolia on Friday night. Despite playing in their third game this week, the girls looked alive and played tough defense and penetrated the basket, even with a tough Logan-Magnolia defense. Head Coach Jason McCall was proud to see his girls change their mentality and play up to the challenge.
The player of the game and leading scorer for AHSTW was Ella Langer. With 17 points on the night, the senior showed that she could live up to the challenge offensively while also having a few takeaways and blocked shots on the night defensively.
Logan-Magnolia was led on the night by Maci Bertelsen with seven points while earning five of those seven in the second half. Brooklyn Lally and Alivia Leonard both earned six points while Marki Bertelsen had five. Allysen Johnsen and Kaiya Knauss both finished off scoring for the Panthers with four and two points respectively.
AHSTW also featured Delaney Goshorn with six points while Saydi Paulsen and Ava Paulsen knocked down four. Rylie Knop and Halle Goodman had three points each while Graycen Partlow finished off scoring with two. These girls continue to fight through every game and this game was just an emphasis on that continued battle.
The Lady Vikes are looking to return back to action this weekend, with a battle against Underwood in a make-up game at 3:00 p.m. This would be the fourth game this week alone for AHSTW, and these girls are more than up to the challenge.
AHSTW improves to 9-5 on the season and 8-2 in Western Iowa Conference action while Logan-Magnolia falls to 7-10 and 5-6 in the conference.
