Central Iowa School District May Change To Four-Day School Week

(Martensdale) A central Iowa school district is considering switching to a four-day school week for the next school year—the Martensdale-St. Marys Community School District held a community information meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday.  Superintendent Bill Watson said the change can help retain teachers, as the district has lost about 31 teachers in the last three years.  If the decision is approved, students will have Mondays or Fridays off.  The final decision will be made next year in February or March.
