(Anita, IA) – The CAM Cougars are entering this upcoming season looking to not only improve their record, but their speed. They are returning an impressive Chase Jahde from last season who was their third-leading scorer. Unfortunately for CAM, they lost their two top scorers from last season, but head coach Ian Hunt is excited about who he has returning to the floor this season.
The big focus for the Cougars is to establish consistency down the line on offense. The team will be relying on Brody Paulsen, Chase Spieker, Chase Jahde, and Ryan and Collin Bower to be able to show what they can do on the floor offensively and defensively. If the Cougars can keep up the pace on the floor, then that will be their key to success.
Players continue to get better over time, and there is no exception for the Cougars. Coach Hunt has seen his athletes step up and continue to improve both offensively and defensively in the offseason and have continued to make strides in practice.
The offense is going to look the same this season for CAM as they are going to look to keep up with a fast-paced offense, something that many teams are running this season. On the opposite end, the Cougars are looking to mix and match in terms of a zone defense, something that has been successful in the past for CAM.
With any team, there will be struggles in the beginning as many teams will face alongside CAM. The thing that helps any team get better is repetition, the more you do something, the better you get at doing it. That is the philosophy for CAM in their ability to improve this season.
The Cougars will host Coon Rapids-Bayard in their home opener on December 1st with the tipoff at 7:15 p.m.
