(Atlantic) Atlantic starts district play on the road at Knoxville on Friday. The Trojans want to turn things around after a 1-3 record in a demanding non-district schedule. After falling short in their first two outings, Knoxville enters the contest with two straight wins.
Atlantic Head Coach Joe Brummer says Friday starts a new season.
Despite the loss to Winterset last week, the defense played their best game.
Knoxville quarterback Noah Keefer has thrown for 553 yards and nine touchdowns. The leading receiver is Koby Higgenbotham. The junior has 16 receptions for 251 yards.
Coach Brummer says it will be essential to get pressure on the quarterback.
Coach Brummer says offensively, the Trojans need to get the running game cranked up. Gavin McLaren leads the team in rushing with 31 carries for 260 yards, and Dante Hedrington 29 carries for 188.
This week’s theme is to improve, begin a family dynamic, and be all in.
The game will be broadcast on westerniowatoday.com (KS957) and the radio at 95.7 F.M. The pre-game show starts at 6:00 p.m. with the kick-off at 7:00.
