(Atlantic) Atlantic senior Abbi Richter signed with Southwestern Community College in Creston to play basketball and Track and Field. Richter chose Southwestern Community College because of the atmosphere. The senior threw the discus and shot put for Atlantic and wants to expand her events at the college level to the Hammer Throw.
Richter, who played under Head Coach Dan Vargason, will also play basketball.
Richter admits it will take some work to prepare for the competition at the next level.
Atlantic Head Basketball Coach Dan Vargason says he is excited for Abbi and for all the time she has put in.
Richter is heading to a school that has excelled in the throws over the past couple of years, led by Molly Venteicher of CAM, who has competed nationally and set numerous school records indoors and outdoors.
