(Glenwood) Glenwood won eight events and captured the team title at the 29th Annual Ram Relays at Glenwood on Monday night. The home team scored 156 points. Lewis Central won three events, scored three seconds, and finished second with 100.33 points. Atlantic won two events, finished second in four others, and finished third in the team race with 98 points.
Zoie Carda won the 100 meters, (12.86) and ran on the winning 4×100, (50.93) and 4×200 meter relays (1:47.93). The Rams also won the 4×400, (4:07.45), 4×800 (10:03.31), and Distance Medley Relay, (4:33.53). Madelyn Bergland won the 3000 meters in a time of (11:02.63), and Jenna Hopp topped the field in the Long Jump, (16-09.75).
Jordyn Matiyow and Elise Thramer dominated the two throwing events for Lewis Central. Matiyow tossed the Shot Put, (37-09.00), and Thramer heaved the discus (115-10) for the win. Madie Fidone won the 400 meters (1:00.66), and Gracie Hays finished second (1:02.18).
Ava Rush led Atlantic with individual titles in the 800 (2:23.27), and 1500 (4:58.93). Jayci Reed finished second in the 100 Meter Hurdles, (15.65), and Claire Pellett finished second in the1500 Meters in a time of (5:02.91). The quad of Nicole Middents, Aubrey Guyer, Morgan Botos, and Chloe Mullenix finished runner-up in the 4×400 Meter Relay (4:13.65). The Distance Medley finished second in a time of (4:39.88), with Jersey Phippen, Taylee Hagen, Guyer, and Claire Pellett on the carry.
Aliyah Humphrey of Underwood won the 200 Meters in (26.58), Chloe Denton outraced the field in the 100 Meter Hurdles, (15.52), and Ariana Klein of Sioux City, North won the 400 Meter Hurdles in (1:06.92). St. Albert raced to a first-place finish in the 800 Sprint Medley Relay, (1:54.26), and Underwood won the 4×100 Meter Shuttle Hurdle Relay (1:11.23), and Avah Underwood, of St. Albert cleared (5-00.00) to win the High Jump.
