(Pottawattamie Co) The Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors continue to speak with the smaller communities in the County to look at their needs and see how the County can help them out. One of the towns the Board heard from on Tuesday was the City of Hancock.
Hancock Mayor Vince Guyer said they are looking at acquiring the old County Roads building in town.
Supervisors Chairman Tim Wichman said the old County Roads building was assessed at $60,000. He said there would have to be some legal things done before anything like that could happen, but he didn’t see where there would be any road blocks.
Vince Guyer said there is also a need for new sidewalks throughout town.
Guyer said they will get to work on taking some measurements and getting a bid to replace the sidewalks as soon as they can.
Guyer said another project they would like to get done is replacing the lights around the softball field in the City Park. He said they have requested a bid for this project, but have not received anything back at this time.
The Supervisors are compiling a list of projects and will look at some of the funding options for each town.
