(Atlantic) The Atlantic Parks and Recreation Department was presented with a $2,500 check from the Rotary Club to sponsor the Camblin Shelter Monday evening.
Bob Camblin said his great uncle Ross Camblin had a lifelong interest in the parks and even served on the Park Board from 1918 to 1973. Bob said Ross was also a charter member of the Rotary Club and was President in 1924.
Ruth Sears, Rotary President, said the Atlantic Rotary Club is always looking for ways to improve the community. She presented the initial sponsorship check, along with their intent to sponsor the shelter in the Ross Camblin Addition of Sunnyside Park from here on out.
Atlantic Parks and Recreation Director Bryant Rasmussen said they did get a bid to sandblast and repaint the shelter. He said this funding can help alleviate some of the capitol improvement strains on the Parks and Recreation Department and allow them to keep this facility up to date.
