(Atlantic) The Atlantic Parks and Recreation Board Monday evening approved an engineering agreement with Snyder and Associates for the Splash Pad project.
Atlantic Parks and Recreation Director Bryant Rasmussen said the splash pad will be the main focus, but the engineering study will also cover some other future projects.
The total cost of the study is $35,800. $11,500 will come out of the pool planning section of the budget and the rest will come out of the Local Option Sales Tax and Hotel/Motel Tax Park Reserve fund.
The Park Board and City Clerk Barb Barrick all agreed that this study is necessary.
In other news, the Parks and Recreation Board thanked Bryant Rasmussen for all of his hard work during his time as Director.
Rasmussen’s last day in Atlantic is Friday. He is taking a job with the Department of Agriculture Soil and Water Conservation District in Mills County.
