(State) The Iowa State Patrol responded to multiple accidents on Sunday.
In Clinton County, two motorcycles were eastbound on Old Lincoln Highway and each left the roadway. One bike struck a traffic sign, resulting in a fatality. The other driver sustained minor injuries.
In Muscatine County, 49-year old Rachel Kay Shoppa and 50-year-old Alexander Justin Shoppa, each of Muscatine, died when they lost control along Highway 22 and left the roadway. Both occupants were ejected from the vehicle.
In Marshall County, 18-year-old Chad Tomas Luzum, of Tiffin, was transported by Lifeflight. Luzum was southbound on Highway 14 in Marshalltown when a 2010 Ford Explorer operated by David Loveberry, of Marshalltown, failed to stop at the stop sign and struck Luzum’s motorcycle.
