(Atlantic) Atlantic Schools Superintendent Steve Barber says the reconstruction project at the Atlantic Middle School continues to progress reasonably.
Atlantic Schools superintendent Steve Barber says the reconstruction of the fire-damaged middle school is not held up by supply chain issues. Most of the work on the lower floor work is complete.
Barber will provide photos for the public to view at the beginning of April.
On the other hand, there are still some hurdles to climb before completing the outdoor facilities project. Barber says they’re waiting to see how well the dormant grass seeding performs as outlined in the specification. Barber says they are watching an area of the sidewalk around Trojan Bowl to ensure that it is not settling to a point causing the water to flow the wrong way. He says besides a few punch list items, each of the three facilities have reached substantial completion and is currently used by students and the community.
