(Atlantic) The Atlantic Animal Shelter received generous donations from the #BettyWhiteChallenge, in honor of the late Betty White’s 100th Birthday. The legendary actress died just weeks before the milestone birthday.
The challenge posted on Facebook encouraged people to donate at least $5.00 to animal shelters, zoos, and rescues, in honor of Betty Whites Birthday and her commitment to animals.
Atlantic Code Enforcement Officer and Animal Shelter Manager Kris Erickson told KSOM/KS95 News the challenge brought to the Shelter between $1,700 and $1,800.
Erickson is grateful to everyone who donated money.
Erickson says the money from the Betty White Challenge Fundraiser will go towards replacing the Pet Cots. Erickson will place the usable cots at the outside dog run for the canines use.
