(Des Moines) The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch from Friday morning through late Friday night for Monona, Harrison, Shelby, Pottawattamie, Montgomery, Page, Crawford, Carroll, Audubon, Guthrie, Cass, Adair, Adams, Union, Taylor and Ringgold counties.
Heavy snow is possible with total snow accumulations of four to eight inches possible and locally higher amounts likely.
The snow is expected to cause impacts on travel, especially the evening commute. Easterly winds of 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph will produce blowing and drifting snow.
