Celebration of Life Service for 83-year old Richard Chapman of Des Moines will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the Steen Funeral Home in Fontanelle with burial in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, rural Fontanelle, Iowa with full military graveside rites conducted by the Greenfield American Legion Head-Endres Post No. 265 and V.F.W. Post No. 5357. Family Visitation: The family will greet friends on Saturday, December 11, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the Steen Funeral Home in Fontanelle.

He is survived by his two sons, Chad Chapman and Todd Chapman both of Des Moines; four grandchildren; three brothers, Milt Chapman and wife Nancy of Creston, John Chapman and wife Ruby of Walsenburg, Colorado and Stephen Chapman and wife Jean of Fontanelle; sister, Alice Carter of Phoenix, Arizona; other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Richard Chapman memorial fund to be established by the family at a later date.
