(Hamburg) Four people suffered injuries in a two-vehicle crash in Fremont County.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at around 1:20 a.m. Sunday on southbound Interstate 29 near the 14.5-mile marker. The four people injured are identified as 40-year old Rebecca Harris, a 14-year old juvenile, 39-year old Melvin Harris, all of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Mateo Zaragoza, from Overland Park, Kansas.
According to the report, a southbound 2018 Honda Civic driven by Zaragoza left the road for reasons unknown, crossed the median, traveled a short distance in the northbound lanes, and collided head-on with a 2010 GMC Yukon, driven by Harris.
Hamburg Rescue transported Rebecca Harris to UNMC, Riverton Rescue transported the juvenile to UNMC, Tabor Rescue transported Melvin Harris to UNMC, and LifeNet airlifted Zaragoza to the UNMC.
The accident remains under investigation.
