(Council Bluffs) Council Bluffs Police arrested the woman accused of spraying a flammable substance on another woman and lighting her on fire.
Council Bluffs Police Officers located and arrested 27-year old Lindsy Maves, of Council Bluffs, and charged her with Attempted Murder, Arson 1st, and Willful Injury.
The Council Bluffs Police Department responded to a report at 4:34 Monday morning at 1435 N. 15th for a woman with severe burns on her body. Medics from the Council Bluffs Fire Department immediately transported the victim, 37-year old Christine Weilage, of Council Bluffs to UNMC for treatment.
Officers determined Weilage was involved in a disturbance with the suspect, Lindsy Maves. During the incident, Maves allegedly sprayed a flammable substance on Weilage and then lit her on fire. A witness attempted to put the fire out, and Maves again attacked Weilage by hitting her in the face with an unknown object. Maves left the area before the officer’s arrived on the scene.
Officers booked Maves into Pottawattamie County Corrections.
