(Exira) Junior grand marshals at the Exira 4th of July Parade this summer will be the Exira-EHK girls basketball team.
The Spartans made the state tournament this season and finished the year with a record of 24-1 despite having just eight players on the team. “They just make us all proud. Their determination, their work ethic, and they are just great kids off the court as well.”
Abby Rasmussen with the Exira Community Club says the team’s willingness to help out was on display this past weekend when they assisted with the 5th Annual 4th of July Kickoff. “Saturday night most of them were there helping clear tables. They give back to their community, they are great in the classroom, and are phenomenal on the basketball court. They certainly made our community come together and show a lot of pride.”
This year’s theme is “Stronger Together” and Rasmussen will tell us how they came up with that tomorrow.
