(Exira) Don and Mary Greving will lead the festivities in Exira this summer.
The announcement was made Saturday night at the Exira Community Club’s 5th Annual 4th of July Kickoff. “The Greving’s raised three kids here and have worked in town. Don worked for the city and just retired I think he was there for 39 years. Mary started the fall festival with another gal in town many years ago.”
Abby Rasmussen with the Exira Community Club says the Greving’s have done a lot of volunteer work over the years. “Both active in their church, Meals on Wheels, they helped put the Christmas tree up in town each year. They’ve just done a wonderful job of giving back. Don’s on the Fire Department too so the list went on and on.”
The junior grand marshals and the theme were also unveiled Saturday. We’ll have stories on those coming up in the next couple of days.
