(Harlan) Nishna Bend Recreation Area is hosting their Spring Dutch Oven cooking class on Monday, April 12.
Naturalist Christina Roelofs says this event has been well received in the past. “Oh definitely. We have a core group of people that come every time and do this. Then we also get some newbies that are mixed in too which is great. For most of our classes we typically have about 30 people.”
They’ll get started at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, April 12th. “I have eight different recipes picked out. As a group we’ll make all the recipes, we’ll cook it, and then we’ll eat everything.”
Preregistration is required. Sign up by calling Iowa Western Community College in Harlan at 712-755-3568 or the Conservation Office 712-744-3403. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for kids ages 5-10. Masks will be required when indoors doing the prep work.
