(Missouri) A Cass County man will serve time in jail in connection with a fatal boating accident at the Lake of the Ozarks in June of 2019.
A Judge ordered Kelly Wise of Atlantic to serve 30-days in jail, followed by probation.
According to the Missouri State Patrol, the accident happened at around 10:00 p.m. in late June at the four-mile marker of the Osage Arm at Lake of the Ozarks. One boat was headed downstream and Wise was traveling upstream when the collision occurred.
Wise received minor injuries in the accident, and his wife Tammy Wise suffered moderate injuries. Justin Russel, 39, of Eugene, Missouri was killed in the crash.
Kelly Wise was arrested after the crash and his blood alcohol level registered .184-more than two-times the legal limit. Wise pleaded guilty in January to boating while intoxicated.
