(Fremont Co.) The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle accident on Highway 2 on the Missouri River bridge Friday evening.
According to the report, 27-year-old Cody Lasovich, of Nebraska City, Nebraska, was driving a 2011 GMC Acadia westbound when Lasovich became distracted and lost control of the vehicle. The Acadia struck a bridge barricade and then the trailer of a 2017 Volvo Semi, driven by 37-year-old Petro Smal of Lincoln, Nebraska, who was also westbound.
The occupants of the Acadia were treated and released by Nebraska City Rescue. The driver of the semi was uninjured.
The Acadia was a total loss. The damage to the trailer was estimated at $20,000.
Alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
The Nebraska State Patrol, Otoe County Sheriff’s Office, Nebraska City Police Department and the Nebraska City Fire and Rescue responded to the scene with the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office.
