(Audubon) The Audubon County Sheriff’s Office reports five arrests.
Maxim Checuh, 23, of Audubon, was arrested on January 17th for two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Controlled Substance-Marijuana. He was released after appearing before the magistrate. These charges stem from a traffic stop on Highway 71.
Kristopher Evans, 28, of Audubon, was arrested on January 22nd on two counts of Possession of Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He appeared before the magistrate and was released on his own recognizance. His charges stem from a traffic stop on Highway 71 near 120th Street.
Shawn Schmidt, 35, of Audubon, was arrested on January 27th on two counts of Driving While Suspended, three counts of Carrying Weapons-Knives, Providing False Information to Law Enforcement, three counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana-1st and Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute. He is currently being held in the Audubon County Jail on a total bond of $113,300. Schmidt’s charges stem from a traffic stop in the area of Highway 44 and Pheasant Avenue.
Nina Bruns, 34, of Audubon, was arrested on January 27th on an outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear on a Driving While Barred charge. She was a passenger in Schmidt’s vehicle and has also been charged with two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute and Possession of Controlled Substance methamphetamine- 3rd or subsequent. She is currently being held on a total bond of $112,600.
Christopher Green, 48, of Exira, was arrested on January 27th for Driving While Barred. He appeared before the magistrate and is currently being held on a $2,000 cash only bond.
