(Avoca, IA) — AHSTW hosted the Western Iowa Conference Cross Country meet on Monday — the best finish for either the girls or boys was Senior Tayli Lawler in 14th place with a time of 24:07.54. Times were up across the board because of the hills and the heat — Lawler’s best time this year is 22:43.0. She says the conditions and the course was really hard but she persevered.
Lawler says it was special to run this meet at home
Lawler is one of just two seniors on AHSTW — Yana Lander is the other. Lawler says she has embraced the role of being a leader
AHSTW has one more regular season meet left — they run at the LoMa-Missouri Valley meet this Saturday and then compete at the state qualifying meet next Thursday.
