(Corning) The 66th Annual John J. Harris Wrestling Tournament at Southwest Valley in Corning will be run differently this year.
Normally the two-day tournament ends on Saturday afternoon with the finals in all weight classes. This year’s tournament will be run on Friday and Saturday as usual. However, seven weight classes will wrestle all the way to the Championship on Friday. The next seven weight classes will compete from start to finish on Saturday.
Southwest Valley Schools Superintendent Chris Fenster says the idea is to reduce the number of spectators inside the Activity Center at one time.
Fenster says two spectators per competitor will be allowed inside the facility during the meet.
The Tournament will be held on January 22 and January 23.
