(Atlantic) The Atlantic boys’ basketball team opens the season at Creston tonight. Creston fell short to Winterset 78-57 on Monday night.
Atlantic Head Coach Jeff Ebling says a point of emphasis at the start of the season is consistency, especially on the offensive end. “We have to take good shots, be aggressive and attack the rim, and when that closes down, kick the ball out and catch and shoot.”
Coach Ebling says a major concern is rebounding with the loss of Nile Petersen to graduation. “Nile did a lot for us last season, and that is one concern,” said Ebling. “We have to block out and pick up some of the rebounds we lost with Nile game in and game out.”
In his third year as head coach, Coach Ebling says this is the deepest and most experienced team he’s coached in Atlantic to date.
Skyler Handlos, who averaged 17-points a game, returns, along with Dayton Templeton, Garrett Reynolds, Grant Sturm, Craig Alan Becker, Ethan Williams, Keaton Juhl, and Caden Andersen.
We will have the game on 95.7 FM and KS957.com. The pre-game starts right after the girl’s contest.
