(Atlantic) Six seniors return to the court for the Atlantic girls’ basketball team. Twenty-six players ninth through twelfth grade reported for preseason practice on November 9.
The senior class is led by all-state guard Haley Rasmussen, who averaged 17.3 points a game one year ago.
Taylor McCreedy, who finished second in rebounding during her junior season, also returns for Coach Vargason.
Maycie Waters, who averaged five points a game one year ago, is back.
Sharpshooter Lauren Nicolas returns as well.
Nellie Grooms, who played in 13 games last season, and her twin sister six-foot inside player Tessa Grooms who started in two games and played in all 23 games last season, is back for the Trojans.
Sophomore guard Jada Jensen returns. Jensen showed a lot of potential and played in 13 games as a freshman, and junior Aspen Niklasen played in 13 games last season is back, as well.
The Trojans open up at home on November 24, and we will have the broadcast on 95.7 FM. The pre-game starts at 7:15 p.m.
