(Winterset) Craig Alan Becker, Zane Berg, and Taylor McCreedy qualified for the State Cross Country Meet in Fort Dodge at the State Qualifying meet at Fort Dodge on Wednesday afternoon. The top three teams and top fifteen individuals earn a spot in the State Competition.
Craig Alan Becker finished fourth in the boy’s race in 16.16, Zane Berg finished 10th in 16.58, and Taylor McCreedy finished fourth overall in the girl’s race in a time of 19.40. (Video interview posted below).
The Dallas Center-Grimes boy’s team ran away with the team title with 26-points. All five scoring runners finishing in the top ten. ADM finished second with 68-points, and Glenwood qualified third-with 103-points.
Andrew Smith led the way for the Rams with a sixth-place finish. The freshman finished with a time of 16:39. Liam Hayes was 13th, Bryant Keller, 22nd, Dillon Andersen, 28th, and Ethan Chappel, rounded out the team scoring in 34th.
Dallas Center-Grimes won the girl’s team title with 43-points, Glenwood second with 66-points, and Winterset qualified in third place with 108-points.
Emma and Lauren Hughes led the Rams with eighth and ninth-place finishes, respectively. Erin Schultz finished 11th, and Riley Wiese rounded out the team scoring in 15th place.
