(Avoca) AHSTW scored the final 21 points of the first quarter to turn a 9-6 lead into a 24 point advantage. The Lady Vikes cruised from that point on in a 68-21 win over Tri-Center.
Kailey Jones led four scorers in double figures with a 29 point outing. Jones did most of her damage on the interior, but also knocked in a 3-pointer and made 4/5 free-throws. Claire Denning scored 11 of her 15 in the first half. Kinsey Scheffler had 14 points and Claire Harris scored 10. Scheffler secured 11 rebounds while Jones and Harris each had 5 steals. Harris added 5 assists.
AHSTW built the lead to 30 points by halftime at 44-14 and eventually put the running clock rule into effect late in the third. The Lady Vikes improve to 10-1 on the season. Tri-Center falls to 2-8. The Trojans were led by Presley Pogge’s 6 points.
