(Griswold) Griswold basketball hits the airwaves on KSOM tonight. The Tigers host Stanton in a girl/boy doubleheader.
With some key injuries and a very difficult schedule, things haven’t got quite as well as the Tiger girls may have hoped, but coach Chris Hamilton has seen some good things take place. “The biggest thing is they are willing to work hard and fight. They don’t quit and that’s a good sign out of a team. They’ve had a rough start to the season so just the fact that they still have their spirits up, are fighting as hard as they possibly can, and are working to get better-that’s great to be around.”
The strong lineup of competition doesn’t let up in the first game out of break. 8-1 Stanton comes to town. The team has faced some of the top teams in the conference already plus their non-conference slate has included the likes of Nodaway Valley, Atlantic, and AHSTW.
Through the work they’ve put in during the holiday break they feel they’ve improved on being strong with the ball and getting it inside. “This year we have some really strong posts that are coming along in Kalainee Teaney and Josie Mundorf. We are working on their fundamentals and post moves. They are getting comfortable getting it inside and that’s what we’ve really worked on the last couple of weeks and it’s shown in our practices.”
Pregame coverage starts at 5:45 with the girls scheduled to tip at 6:00 p.m. The pregame interview with coach Chris Hamilton is available below:
