(Cass Co.) The Cass County Board of Supervisors discussed the hiring of a Veteran Affairs Executive Director this morning.
Last month, Cass County Veteran Affairs Executive Director Mitch Holmes announced his retirement, effective July 1st.
This morning, Holmes announced the Veterans Affairs Commission recommended William Baylor, of Anita, as his replacement.
The Supervisors held a lengthy discussion about possibly putting together a 28E agreement and sharing Baylor with Audubon County on a 60/40 basis. The Supervisors agreed to table action on the hiring and hold a meeting next Tuesday in a joint session with the Audubon County Supervisors.
In other news, the Supervisors approved a Federal-Aid Agreement for a project on Jasper Road; approved a resolution authorizing the transfer of camping fees from General Basic to Conservation; approved the removal of Dr. Jill Pollpeter as Medical Examiner Deputy; and approved the Cost Advisory Services, Inc. contract for FY26-28.
