(Atlantic) Richie Andersen is one of a kind. While KSOM/KS95.7 Sports could have gone in several directions for picking a dedicated fan to feature for Atlantic, there was one individual we simply could not pass up.
Known by many as Atlantic’s #1 Superfan, Richie loves the Trojans and lives for sports.
He supports all the teams, but softball might be #1.
Richie is an Elk Horn-Kimballton alum, but lives in Atlantic. Don’t ask him to pick a favorite team between the two. Richie unfortunately doesn’t get to every game as sometimes he has to work or doesn’t have a ride. He admits it makes him mad when he has to miss something.
He mentioned he likes to listen to his favorite broadcaster, Tom Robinson, when he can’t get to a game in person. Richie has enjoyed many big moments when cheering on the Trojans including their 2017 Boys Basketball Substate win over Glenwood.
Richie called it a toss up when asked if he’d rather watch the Chiefs on TV or go to an Atlantic High School football game. One thing is for sure, Richie enjoys the spotlight.
A long list of names was brought up when considering Atlantic’s top fans. Among them were Kathy and Blaine Hansen, Jackie Sampson, Billie Hoover, Chuck Barnett, Janice Kramer, Tom Robinson, and Norma Brix.
