(Audubon) The $7.5 million Audubon School bond issue passed 271-yes to-119 no, or 69.59 percent in favor of and 30.41-percent no votes.
The referendum will fund the model, repair, and improvement of the middle school and high school buildings.
Audubon Schools Superintendent Eric Trager noted large portions of the building are original 1965 vintage. He says the district is currently operating with six different HVAC systems, and the goal is to consolidate the operations and dispose of some of the old equipment that has reached the end of its useful life. Trager says all buildings will be touched with significant renovations and minor facelifts to the newer portions of the buildings.
