(Stuart) Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management Director Bob Kempf says those out and about should head for home.
“We’re expected the snow to change over to freezing rain this afternoon,” said Kempf.
Kempf says there is a chance of around one-quarter of an inch of ice accumulation on top of the snow. He says the precipitation is expected to switch back over to snow with another one-to-two inches of accumulations into Saturday morning.
“The biggest concern after that is the wind,” Kempf said. “We’re going to have strong winds accompanied by very high wind gusts. The high winds could break the crust on this snow causing it to blow around resulting in reduced visibility.”
Kempf says the system will be followed by sub-zero temperatures on Sunday.
